Dormant Treasures

In between workshops I’m still continuing with my personal art practice. I’m currently developing some New Forms which are looking at ways to develop new artworks out of old sketches.

I’m currently reworking an ‘Historic Photographic Practices’ sketchbook which I completed in 2008. Here are photograms, lith prints, cyanotypes, and salt prints on a variety of papers. I’ve ripped up some of the most expensive darkroom paper as well as paper doilies to rework this dormant treasure into something new.

It all stems from a notion that were constantly reworking ourselves into something new. Our skins are always evolving and renewing. We are always striving to be better versions of our previous selves. New bodies form from the remains of the old.
