Bringing Gower Home to Neath

Earlier this month a group from Melincryddan Advice Centre went to Llanrhidian as part of their Bringing Gower Home experience. Tonight friends and family from as far afield as Pontypool gathered with workshop participants at Neath Cricket Club to share stories about this magical place.

The Gower works in mysterious ways and it’s no surprise to hear that lots of the group still felt that their day at Llanrhidian is one they will treasure for a long time. We chatted about how the locals were really friendly and that the spirit of the community in North Gower is something they felt really fortunate to have been part of during their workshop.

The best photographs the group took were displayed at Neath Cricket Club for everyone to share and it was great to see participants keen to keep their pictures. Tonight Gower really was taken home to the people of Neath, Briton Ferry, and Melincryddan. Thank you to everyone who came to share in this event. Bringing Gower Home provides a series of one day photography workshops which encourage a connection with the landscape and celebrate what is personally special about the Gower. We focus on themes of Natural Gower, The Sea and Gower, Living on Gower, and  Historical Gower. I am organising, delivering, and supporting this project in collaboration with Gower Landscape Partnership (GLP) which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Natural Resources Wales, City and County of Swansea, and National Trust.
