I’m planning the next round of photography workshops today. It’s really exciting to be putting together new workshops in Swansea and Neath with new people and new situations. We’re delivering a four week course later this month for Communities First in Morriston and also working closely with the team in Townhill to get things rolling there. There’s also a special workshop in the planning for the hard working people over in Swansea Carers Centre and another for the Communities First team over in Neath. But I always want to be delivering more!
The time management of working with so many organisations takes a while and negotiations can be over in minutes or drag on for weeks depending on who’s where and what on what week. All the organisations we work through here at Melanie Ezra Photography Workshops work hard at serving their community and time is often precious. It’s a pleasure to be liaising with such hard working people and I’m always happy to wait a day or so for people to get around to talking to me. The service users are the priority, not me. It’s an ethos we all have in making sure that people who wouldn’t normally have access to workshops get the deal they deserve.
Some of the workshops planned for the coming months are part of the Bringing Gower Home project. I am organising, delivering, and supporting this project in collaboration with Gower Landscape Partnership (GLP) which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Natural Resources Wales, City and County of Swansea, and National Trust.
