I’ve been hard at work today at the office securing locations and dates for another 10 workshops for my Bringing Gower Home project. Bringing Gower Home 2 will take up to 120 people out to the Gower for a photographic experience like never before. The first group will be out and about on Thursday looking for photographic inspiration and taking portraits of people who work and live in this amazing place.
It’s been hard to concentrate on all the paperwork that I’ve had to do because I’m really excited for tomorrow. I’m travelling back to the Workers Gallery in Ynyshir tomorrow afternoon for the launch of my 5th UK solo show titled Methodology. I’m deliberately showing my methods and inspirations in this show. It’s a warts and all approach that I’ve not been brave enough to try before. I have all my sketchbooks out as well as maquettes and models that I wouldn’t normally share. Here there are rejects and half-baked ideas as well as successfully published books, and unsuccessfully published ones.
Across the other side of the gallery are finished pieces that allow you to see what all the work in progress is about. I’ll be sharing all four finished pieces from my latest Automata series as well as some large pieces from earlier in my career. There’s so much to see that I’m not sure I can remember all that’s there.
The exhibition is open 10-5 Thursday -Sunday until 9th July. Tomorrow I’ll be there 2-4 for a cuppa and cake if you fancy a chance to ask me about my Methodology.
See you there!
