Bank Holiday Shoe-in

It’s a bank holiday weekend here in the UK. It’s a public holiday which means… ummm… well not a lot. In fact, it’s a very confusing idea of a public holiday because a whole heap of the public don’t seem to have a holiday and there’s no statutory right to any days off anyway. I’m good with words and even I’m not sure it makes a whole heap of sense any more. Here’s a website aimed at children to explain and even then I’m not sure it’s that clear although the table certainly helps a little. Needless to say, things just work out differently and it’s a disruption to the whole rhythm of the nation.

I’m spending the occasion painting these Converse shoes that I found on Ebay for 99p. I love taking second-hand items and giving them a new lease of life. It’s fun to get out the fabric paint and try something new, unique, and unusual. I’ve been doing this a while and the results are usually awesome. I’ll share the results tomorrow.

Meanwhile, if anyone can come up with a simple explanation as to what a Bank Holiday actually means, particularly for an artist, then please comment below.
