I’m currently working on The Scout which I’m completing in collaboration with Ben Honebone. I’m playing with the fact that thin cut paper warps and refuses to sit flat. These three layers give the impression of being far deeper because of their refusal to flatten. By the time we reach 15+ layers the effect will be immense.
The Scout is the fourth assemblage we’re creating as part of the Structured Chaos series. This series is challenging both our comfort zones and every collage is very different in style and creation. The concepts we’re exploring demand that we push the medium and traditional ideas on collaborative working. Aren’t there enough limitations out there? Why should any of these apply to creativity? Surely as artists it is important that we should be challenging every creative boundary that we face?
We will not play it safe. We will not compromise on creativity. Together we will push each other to create and improve beyond what either of us ever dreamed could be possible.
