Opening Today in London

A while back I was commissioned to create a new artwork by London publisher Sampson Low and today sees the unveiling of the On The Map exhibition to accompany this at The Sunbury Embroidery Gallery in London.

The brief was to create a new map of my local area as seen through an artist’s eyes. I worked in collaboration with Rose Davies to create a completely unique perspective on Swansea. Swansea is the home to Dylan Thomas, Catherine Zeta Jones, Swansea City Football Club, Bonnie Tyler, and countless beautiful beaches but these tourist icons are rarely the things that influence the people who live here. As artists we are always looking for new and unique inspiration from out local environment.

I’ve shared a little detail from our finished map back in February and we’ve also turned the physical map into an interactive one to accompany our work. To see the map itself you’ll have to get over to Sunbury between now and May 10th. Rose and I will be there for the private view on Thursday 23rd April and you’re more than welcome to join us. The maps will also be available to buy via the SampsonLow website soon.
