A couple of days ago I went to visit Wales’ newest art gallery. The Workers Gallery is based in Ynyshir in the Rhondda. The gallery is to be a vibrant hub for the arts in the Rhonnda. The mission is to be supporting people of all abilities in a professional working environment to develop their design, artistic and practical skills; providing accessible exhibitions, making and thinking spaces predominantly for local people and artists and designers alike- but with an interest in developing international residencies and partnerships.
Run by artists Gayle Rogers & Chris Williams it is already attracting a lot of interest. There is a growing art reference library as well as bookable exhibition, meeting, and workshop spaces. The Workers Gallery has a select group of Gallery Artists who exhibit in the space by invitation only.
I am really proud to announce that I am one of The Workers Gallery resident gallery artists. A selection of my old and new works will be on display at the gallery for the foreseeable future. I’ll be rotating my exhibition space around on a regular basis so it’s well worth paying a regular visit to this unique and wonderful little arts space.
