I have no time to photograph anything today. The prep I need to do for New York has reached a critical stage. Although I am fully aware that I’ll be travelling and exhibiting in a fully civilized society, I also know that I don’t want to be running around in an unfamiliar neighbourhood trying to get last minute jobs sorted.
For me, New York Fashion Week needs to be a relaxing and pleasurable experience. It is for this reason that I’m spending my day printing brochures about my work. It’s slow and its tedious work but I know I can do it better, and cheaper, than my local printer. The brochure is for a high class audience and so needs to be flawless. I learned a long time ago that quality and consistency are what makes a reputation. The attention to detail here will pay huge dividends in the long run.
Wish me luck. It’s going to be a long day.
