This family of old limpets interest me. They host a larger family of barnacles which provide protection and disguise. Nature has a way of building inter-species relationships in a constant battle for survival using camouflage and cunning. But it is not this relationship that piques my interest.
Over the coming years layers of crustaceans and mollusks will build on the layers of rusting wall. This corrugated wall offers protection from the vicious power of the tide and in turn the shells protect the wall. It is these layers of interdependence between wall and these little living creatures that interest me. There is something here that I can work with. Ideas are washing up on the shores of my mind leaving little sandy deposits of creativity.
