So, after yesterday’s thoughts on how to deconstruct my photograph, this is the first result from working with the image. As I suspected, using a scalpel has created harsh lines that are potentially at odds with the softer pinhole photograph. Despite these concerns, I think this is still a valid response to the base photograph. Working with the scalpel adds extra depths to my work that ripping doesn’t always convey. The next step is to try out a series of responses using my thoughts from yesterday’s blog. I’m hoping that one method of collage will stand out and I can proceed in that direction.
That’s it. That’s all I have. No dilemmas, or contradictions, or deep and meaningful philosophies today. All of these things are present in Response 1.1 and at this point in development cannot be vocalised.
