Entering the Darkness

My work is not deliberately dark. I only create what appeals to me. It is only when I am forced to compare my work to other people’s do I realise just how dark my work actually is. And just how they may interpret the darkness in my work.

I don’t believe the colours and contrasts in my work are an indication of a blackened soul. The images are a construct of my Self in the way the materials are chosen and worked. The choice of monochrome is one of simplicity.

Yes my images are dark. But I am not afraid of the darkness.
